Why Our Program Exists

Our mission is to support the love of lesbians and adjacent queer people everywhere. We've already worked so hard to be able to live and love as our true selves. We are brave, passionate, motivated and resilient. Healthy, fulfilling relationships should be our reward. They can be our reward.

Yet because most of us have been operating without roadmaps, good role models, or the very specific skills we need, our beautiful relationships can end up deadlocked in pain, toxic dynamics and excruciating breakups. 

Maybe you've lived through this cycle more than once, each time hoping that when you met the right person, it would be different. And then you met someone you thought was right -- and it happened again.

Over time, you may have started wondering, "Do relationships always have to be this hard? Is love even worth it? Am I even capable of a healthy relationship? Is the right woman for me even out there?" 

Lesbian Dating & Love Are Different

Let's be honest: all human relationships are challenging. Yet straight couples and gay men have different challenges than women-loving-women.  

Two women face different obstacles at every point in the relationship life cycle, starting with the challenge of just finding each other. Most of us struggle to make the first move. Then, if there's mutual attraction, we often bond deeply, fast. There's a reason why that "U-haul on the second date" joke exists! We're famous for diving right into relationships. 

Lesbian chemistry and connection are epic. We have so much more intimacy than couples of other genders. Within a very short time, it can feel like you've found your forever person.  

Yet tragically, this rapid bonding leads us into more rapid and intense triggers. Attachment wounds collide. Sometimes we go from feeling totally perfect for each other to feeling completely, terribly wrong for each other within a few weeks or months. Or maybe the dissolution is slower, but hurt, fear, anger and disappointment take their toll. 

This explains a lot about why the lesbian divorce rate is 3X higher than that of straight or gay male couples. 

There is hope. But it doesn't lie just in finding the right partner. It takes learning how to be the right partner, too. 

Here's What We'll Teach You

The Conscious Girlfriend Academy's membership program gives you the most effective, comprehensive lesbian/queer education and support available anywhere, so you can:

✔ Understand your unique lesbian/queer erotic psyche, so you can build a great sex life. (Female-female couples face some very specific challenges here, but they are surmountable!)

✔ Work effectively with your attachment wounds and your partner's inevitably conflicting wounds, so you can create secure attachment.

Membership gives you three kinds of support.

CLASSES 

We hold transformational live-on-Zoom classes for nine months of each year. Replays are available. Membership gives you all of them, plus access to a massive library of classes from previous years. Basic members get 50+ on-demand classes; Deep Dive members get over 100, including our entire Lesbian Bed Life Sexuality Series. 

SKILL-BUILDING LABS

Classes themselves aren't enough to prepare you for real-life challenges.  You need practice, too. That's why our coaches lead Dating & Love Skill-Building Labs every week, all year round, open to all members. 

DEEP DIVE GROUP COACHING

If you opt for a Deep Dive membership, you'll get 26 powerful group coaching sessions with Academy director Ruth Schwartz. Many members say this alone is worth the whole membership fee. 

COMMUNITY

Transformation needs company -- so we support you in forming homework buddy groups and affinity groups. Past affinity groups have formed for BIPOC, women 60+, women 70+, members in different regions, Spanish-speaking members, Late Bloomers, Trans and Genderqueer members, and more.

Over 60? You get even more! Our peer-led weekly Conscious Lesbian Elders Group is included free in your membership.
