Ruth L. Schwartz, Ph.D.
Lead teacher Ruth is the Academy director, author of Conscious Lesbian Dating and Love and seven other books, and a geek about all things related to dating, love and attachment.
Lisa Madsen, L.C.S.W.
Support Group Leader Lisa is a certified Conscious Girlfriend coach and life coach, as well as a psychotherapist of 25+ years. She came out after 20+ years of heterosexual marriage and two children.
About Conscious Girlfriend Academy
Ruth co-authored the book Conscious Lesbian Dating & Love in 2015, and since then, it has spawned a movement! Since then, women and adjacent non-binary people from 25 countries have taken our classes, though a majority of participants are in the United States or Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions
How old will most class members be?
Our class participants have ranged in age from old souls in their 20s to youthful spirits in their 80s. Most Conscious Girlfriend Academy participants are 45 and up. It's definitely never too early or too late to come out and come home.
All classes are recorded, so you can watch them later. Support groups are not recorded, so you've gotta be there live!
